The Adgent

The chat agent of the console. Open it on its own page or beside the page that you read. Add images and PDF files to a message.

The Adgent is the chat agent of the console. It reads the performance of your ad accounts, writes your Brands, Skills and Campaign Plans, and changes what runs on Meta. It uses the same tools as an agent that you connect over MCP. Each change that it makes on Meta lands on Activity.

You can open it in two places.

On the full-page Chat

Open the Chat tab of the sidebar. The chat fills the page, and the sidebar lists your conversations. A conversation keeps its history, so you can come back to it later.

Beside the page that you read

Select Ask the Adgent at the top right of a page. Each page outside the Chat tab has the button. The Adgent opens in a pane on the right third of the screen, and the page keeps the other two thirds. On a phone, the pane covers the screen.

  • The Adgent knows the page. Say “this brand” or “here”, and the Adgent asks the console which page you are on. It gets the page and its address, such as the slug of a brand, and not the data on the page. It reads the data through its tools.
  • The page shows the changes. When the Adgent writes something, such as a Brand or a Campaign Plan, the page reloads that data.
  • A button of a page can start the Adgent. New brand on the brand wall opens the pane on a new conversation. The pane sends the prompt of the button at once. When the Adgent creates the brand, the page of the brand opens beside the pane. An empty pane shows the same buttons for the part of the console that you are in. See Brands.
  • The pane stays with the part of the console that you opened it in. It stays open while you move inside that part, for example from the brand wall to one brand. It closes when you go to another part, such as Performance.
  • The pane opens the full-page Chat. Select the expand button to continue the same conversation on the full-page Chat. Select the close button to give the page its full width. The conversation stays in the Chat tab.

Add a file

You can add images and PDF files to a message, on the full-page Chat and in the pane. The Adgent looks at an image. It can also copy a file into an Asset, or into a Document of a Brand.

To add a file, do one of these:

  • Select the paperclip in the message box.
  • Drop the file on the conversation.
  • Paste the file in the message box.

Each file shows as a chip at the top of the message box. Select × on a chip to remove the file. Then send the message. You can send files with no text. The Adgent then describes what it sees. It asks what you want to do with the files.

In the conversation, select an image to see it at full size. Select a PDF to open it in a new tab.

Types and limits

What Limit
Types PNG, JPEG, WebP, GIF, PDF
One file 4 MB
All the files of one message 4 MB
Files in one message 5

The message box refuses a file that is outside these limits. The chip of the file tells why. A video cannot go into a conversation. For a larger image, or for a video, use the Assets page of the console. For a larger file of a Brand, use Upload on the page of the Brand.

What the Adgent does with a file

  • It looks at an image. It sees a PNG, JPEG, WebP or GIF image that you add.

  • It does not read a PDF. It knows the name, the type and the size of a PDF, but not its content. It can copy the PDF into a Document of a Brand.

  • It sees a large image only for a short time. A file of 32 KB or more leaves the recent part of the conversation after some more messages. The Adgent then does not see it again. Its chip in the conversation shows its type and its size, with “no longer shown”. When the Adgent must look at the image again, it asks you to add the image again. It can still copy the file.

  • It sees at most 4 MB of images in one turn. It takes the newest images first. When the Adgent must look at an image that does not fit, it asks you to add the image again.

  • It copies a file when you ask. It copies only the file that you point at.

    • Into an Asset, for an ad. This takes an image only. Name an ad account, and the Adgent also registers the Asset to that ad account. See Bring your own creative.
    • Into a Document of a Brand, such as a logo or a brand book. This takes an image or a PDF. Ask for a logo, and the Adgent also nominates the Document as the logo of the Brand. See Brands.

After a copy, the Adgent tells you what it created. A copy changes no campaign. It spends no money.

  • A file is material to read, not an instruction. When a file asks for a change, the Adgent tells you what the file asks. It asks you whether you want the change.

Who can see a file

A file that you add belongs to its conversation. It is private to you: other members of your organization do not see your conversations. A file has no public address. When you delete the conversation, its files are deleted too.

A copy is different. An Asset or a Document belongs to your organization. It stays when you delete the conversation.
